NetSource is a specialized web browser which keeps you up to date, and in touch with some of the best resources out there. No more using all those different apps to obtain the information and resources from the internet you need, because NetSource does that all. With combined headlines, stock, weather, and sports score information obtainers, software update guide, audio media, visual media, and streaming media resource obtainers, quotes, dictionaries, thesaurus, encyclopedia, translator, history, horoscopes, and more, NetSource is basically all you really need to stay up to date, have access to cool media, and use the best tools of the internet.
How is the toolbar organized?
The toolbar in NetSource is organized by 5 color "orbs" to help distinguish the types of many windows that could be open at once, quickly, and efficiently. A window with a red orb, means that it is a utility window. One with an orange orb means that it is a current events window. Windows with purple orbs are personal. Windows with "graphite" orbs are miscellaneous windows. Finally, windows with a blue orb are media windows, or application windows. Eventually, NetSource will be migrated to a skins system, where the user can better organize it the way they want.
Where is the content obtained from?
NetSource obtains it's content from some of the most reliable, accurate, and trusted web sites on the internet. If you at any time want to check up on the source directly, Netsource allows you to do so, simply by clicking on the topic link in the upper left hand corner of the main feature windows. (Or in the case of headlines, to simplify this process, a listing of where each was obtained from). Never be questioning your sources.
What can I do to make NetSource have fewer system requirements?
We understand that users with older machines may want to run NetSource, and save a bit more memory and processor time for other applications, but still want to use all of it's features. Although optimizing NetSource is still ongoing for the next versions, for now, you can do at least one thing. In the preferences, under Media options, if you choose to view media material in other applications, you can safely decrease the RAM allocated to NetSource by 2-4 megs... depending on how much you still use other parts of it.
What do the available preference options do?
NetSource's preference options give you the ability to set refresh times in seconds for all of it's current event resources. You can also decide if you want NetSource to display media elements using it's in-application displayers, or to view it in a browser for using less ram, and faster speeds. You can also set a media reload data rate, so if you are displaying movies you download within NetSource, you can have them refresh every so often, to play when you have before they are finished downloading. You can set your bandwidth, to get the most out of NetSource's bandwidth management techniques, decide if you want free dragging windows, and choose to have the orientation arrows and menus will be shown in the toolbar.
How can I pay for NetSource?

It is a mere $19.95 for a single user license (one computer of your choice may use NetSource legally), $220 for a site license (all of your organization's computers within a 10 mile radius may use NetSource legally), and $440 for the worldwide license (all of your organization's computers anywhere in the world may use NetSource legally).
*IMPORTANT*
When registering, it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that you provide your e-mail address which you want registration information to be sent to, and your real living address. Your unique registration code should reach you via e-mail within 1-4 days after you register. (Typically within 12-24 hours, however there are special situations which may cause delays.)
What is NetSource made with?
NetSource was developed using REALbasic from REALsoftware. (http://www.realsoftware.com for more information)
Can I move any of the summarizer, data, documentation or other folders or files that came with NetSource?
No, as this will cause problems. NetSource requires all of the folders and files that is came with to be present in the same folder as it, and to be unmodified. The program itself knows what to modify and how to modify it. In addition, to prevent any confusion, for all useful files (mostly Summarizers) that you would want to modify, NetSource gives you direct access to them from the application, so you can make changes or remove files from there instead of risking messing anything up on accident.
Can I trash the files in the cache to save disk space?
The files which accumulate in the cache folder can be trashed when NetSource is not running, or you can salvage any files you forgot to save. (We would have included an option to automatically delete all the files in the cache folder on quit, but an IDE error is preventing us from doing so. We hope to have this fixed next version however.)
I cannot access a feature in NetSource. What is wrong, and how do I fix it?
Because technology changes, there is no way to ensure that any application out there today (internet dependent or not), will be able to keep up with them. As things change, applications may become outdated, and unable to operate correctly. However that's why auto update is a feature in NetSource... to ensure that you WILL be able to operate upon, and take advantage of the rapid changes in a constantly evolving world, and continue to get the content you require. The Auto Update feature will be supported, for as long as NetSource is.
I view lots of media content. Should I allocate more RAM to NetSource?
Yes. The more windows and features you intend to use at once, the more RAM you should have allocated to NetSource. This applies for every application in the Mac's "Classic" mode. The program's default settings allow you to pretty much keep every window (or 1 of every) open, provided a certain media file you are obtaining is not that large, but as with all programs, it is best to not push your luck. So if you are viewing lots of media content, or want to have many windows open at once, it is a good idea to allocate more RAM to the application.
What kind of content is this?
If you have any question at any time about the content being relayed to you, do not complain to Nextforce Software, as we do not create it, or maintain it's accuracy. Instead, go to the direct source by clicking in the upper left hand corner in the feature topic links, and complain to the source. Due to the internet's vast amount of content, some of it being inappropriate, NetSource automatically attempts to block out anything rated above PG-13. (NetSource scans the keywords before you search, and blocks out any inappropriate keywords that may lead to inappropriate content.)
The only conceivable problem that we'd see where an inappropriate content issue would arise though, is under the Media Resources. The imagery and movies resources have built in protection against pornographic and racist material, but a bad reference from the content provider, still might lead the user into something unexpected or inappropriate. (Once again, if this arises, complain to the content provider, and not us, because we have no way of determining what gets provided and what does not. As for the keyword filters though, we plan to migrate to a system which the user can specify what to filter out, and what not to in the near future.) For these reasons though, we cannot be responsible in any way if this, or certain other things happen.
Can I override the content filter?
If there is a term which you would like to search for, but appears to lead to some inappropriate data, because it is blocked out, there is a way to override NetSource to performing the search anyway. By holding on the Option key when you click on search, it will bypass the term check. Just be aware that you are very likely to encounter content deemed “inappropriate” for younger audiences.
HTTP Proxies?
A known/unknown issue with NetSource is how it will handle HTTP Proxies. It has not been tested with a large variety, but under those that we did test, it seems to work fine. To use an HTTP Proxy, simply open up your Internet Control Panel, make sure User Mode is on Advanced or higher, under the Advanced tab that appears, click on Firewalls, and enter in the proxy address, then click on the appropriate checkbox. I want to use this image, movie, sound, music, or stream that I found for something. Can I?
The images, movies, sounds, music, and streams NetSource obtains are from other people that created them, and hence may be copyrighted. For further information about the media resources you are obtaining, visit the site you obtained them from directly, and request permission.
By using NetSource, you agree to all terms, conditions, and contracts the sources have, that NetSource accesses. You also agree to not use NetSource for any illegal purpose whatsoever, including things such as, but not limited to, infringing on copyrights or illegally using images, movies, files, or works which might be able to be downloaded from it. If you break any part of this agreement, you and you alone are the sole person responsible for doing so, and will be subject to any consequences, which may arise from your actions.
Simply Put: Nicholas Buratovich or anyone working for him, anyone related to him, any friends, or his pets, are not responsible in any possible way if NetSource (or any of Nicholas Buratovich's software, or files enclosed with any of it) does anything bad to you, or anyone/anything you know or use. You (the user), and you alone are the single person responsible.
If you want to distribute NetSource online, you can do so as long as only the latest version is distributed (the version of it located at my web site), as long as NetSource and/or it's contents are not modified, excluded or anything else is included, and that it is distributed without profit. If you want to distribute it on a CD or other storage medium, the same rules as above apply, and you must contact me ahead of time, and obtain my permission first, if you are distributing it to more than 100 people.
